2026 PCRC Rally, August 12-16
Well, it was another great PCRC Rally. We had some relief from the recent heatwave and all the predictions of rain mostly fizzled out. For five days, the 27th annual Pioneer Chapter Riders Club Rally brought together old friends for riding, relaxing, and reminiscing.
Wednesday was Arrival Day for most folks. At what has become our club rally home, The Country Lodge Inn in Harmony was our base. Nancy has always been a wonderful host. And that evening she once again created an amazing welcome meal of Chinese food.
Thursday brought an early rain shower, so we car-pooled down to Decorah Iowa for lunch at Toppling Goliath Brewing. Then with clearing skies we fired up the rest of our machines and took a tour of the Root River valley and its southern hills before swinging down to Cresco Iowa for dinner. For the second year in a row Atomic Pizza received high praise from all, including our pizza aficionados from Chicago.
Our Friday ride took us into La Crosse where we made a stop at the Dahl Auto Museum. The Dahl family have been automotive dealers since 1911 and have been collectors throughout their history. The collection at the La Crosse location is very impressive and was worth the stop. Also well worth the stop was the Fork & Fable Crafthouse for lunch. Our ride back was through the hills and more hidden valleys north of the Root River with a stop in Lanesboro. Our evening dinner was served back at the hotel by Ody’s Country Meats and Catering. I can't stop thinking about those smoked pork chops. Awesome!
Friday evening we held a meeting of rally attendees. By unanimous consent the 2027 PCRC Rally will return to Harmony Minnesota, August 11th through the 15th.
On Saturday we drifted upstream around the headwaters of the Root River with a stop for coffee at Pivot Brew in Spring Valley. Lunch was at Four Daughters Vineyard & Winery. A local farm family opened the winery in 2011 and have been raking in awards and notoriety ever since. The afternoon included a relaxing, winding ride back to Harmony before topping off Rally activities with dinner at a southeastern Minnesota institution, The Branding Iron Restaurant.
Many thanks to all those that attended and assisted in making this another successful rally. It’s always wonderful to spend time with the Pioneer Chapter Family. And I’m looking forward again to next year.
