What is the EHRC?

The Excelsior-Henderson Riders Club (EHRC) is a not-for-profit grassroots organization; it is an independent worldwide organizing body for owners and fans of Excelsior-Henderson motorcycles.  As of this writing, the EHRC is not currently officially affiliated with, nor does it officially represent, the Excelsior-Henderson Motorcycle Manufacturing Company.  The company does, however, know of our existence and has been working with us to ensure that the Club and Company maintain an amicable relationship.

The EHRC originally started with a group of Minnesota riders who wished to form a riders' club in 1999.  This group formed the Pioneer Chapter in February 2000.  Soon thereafter, Super-X  owners and fans from around the country expressed interest in joining the Chapter or forming their own.

The Pioneer Chapter then saw the need for a larger, overseeing body to organize all of the individual chapters.  It was known that the Excelsior-Henderson Motorcycle Manufacturing Company had itself intended to create an owners club, but due to the unforeseen financial turbulence that the company experienced during the year 2000, the company (quite understandably) had other more pressing priorities and the riders club effort was forced to wait.  With individual chapters in the process of being formed, the Pioneer Chapter then decided that this effort could not afford to wait, and has taken it upon themselves to keep working on the national organization.

As bad luck would have it, the Company never managed to recover.  Obviously, that meant that there would be no more bikes built, and therefore no major expansion of membership.  At this point, fledgling regional chapters were not able to reach the critical mass needed to sustain themselves, leaving the Pioneer Chapter as the only active chapter of the EHRC.  So don't be confused if you hear the names "EHRC" and "Pioneer Chapter" being used interchangeably - they are one in the same at this point.

Why should I join?

Right now, you will get the benefit of joining an organized network of fellow owners and riders of Excelsior-Henderson motorcycles.  This has been especially valuable now that the Company is gone.  You will get the chance to get to know other bikers who can provide you with advice, maintenance help, and other expertise.  This is a unique machine, and let's admit it - most of us know far more about the intricacies of our machines than many dealers or service personnel do.

Your membership dues have allowed the club to sponsor picnics, the first X-Rally, and keep this website online.  The dues have also allowed us to obtain specialized tools that are available for club members to sign out and use.

Each year, we try to give our members some piece of schnazzy swag.  Over the last few years we have given out club t-shirts, club patches, even a sweet looking dated key fob.

Members will be the first to know about great events and offers.  As this web site grows, members will get exclusive access to news, event calendars, tip and tricks, and worldwide member-to-member classified ads.
