Pioneer Chapter Meeting

Randy & Val Schwandt’s house – 22 August 2010

----------------------------------------------

Attendees:  Buck Bailey, Phil Ward, Mavis Ward, Randy Schwandt, Val Schwandt

Treasurer’s Report – Since the last report we deposited dues for five new/renewed memberships. Rally bills have been paid. The 2011 member gifts have been selected and paid for. Overall we’re financially healthy, and actually are ahead of where we were last year at this time. Barring any unforeseen circumstances there is no reason to change the membership dues or the Rally pricing next year.

Membership Report – We have 111 members. Phil came across a great deal on a multi-tool for next year’s membership gift. They are ordered and will be available for the 2011 members once 2011 arrives. We’re still accepting 2010 dues and they are still $20. Membership can be paid by going online to ehridersclub.com or you can send a check to John Jones - 301 N Main St, Le Sueur MN 56058-4361. John can be contacted at duc88825@hotmail.com or 507-665-4062.

X Rally 2010 Retrospective
Financial
- We came out ahead by containing costs, mainly on meals. The Thursday lunch at Tucker’s cost almost the same as last year. The evening meals from Rademacher’s were reasonably priced, everyone got plenty to eat, and thanks to Phil and Mavis ordering them ahead of time they were nearly effort-free to set up. There is no reason we can see at this time to change the pricing structure for X Rally 2011.

Schedule – We asked for, and received, suggestions for next year’s Rally. One suggestion was to change the Rally dates to coincide with the Belle Plaine Barbeque Days so the barbeque lovers would be able to attend. After discussion, we decided to continue scheduling the Rally as we have in the past - the first Thursday two days after the Fourth of July, leaving Wednesday evening open for pre-Rally activities. X Rally 2011 will be held Thursday July 6 through Saturday July 8, 2011.

Location – Cindy and Dale at the Downtown Motel provide great “home base” for the Rally. We decided (and have verified with Dale and Cindy) that the X Rally 2011 home will once again be the Downtown Motel, LeSueur, MN (507) 665-6246.

Activities – This year’s schedule worked out well. For X Rally 2011 we will look at the entire schedule as usual, but since the 2010 Saturday ride was an external event we’ll look at planning our own ride(s) or activities for Saturday 2011. If anyone has feedback/ideas for Saturday or the entire schedule please let an officer know.

Food Shelf – We received a very nice thank you from the LeSueur Food Shelf, stating that our contribution helped out in what is normally a slow time of year for contributions.

Miscellaneous – This was a bad year for insects in Minnesota – we need to investigate borrowing/renting some type of covered serving trays or dishes for X Rally 2011.

Thanks – There is always a list of people who did all that "little stuff" that goes unnoticed when it's done, but is greatly missed when it is missing. Here is an admittedly partial list:

-Thanks to John Jones for the use of his trailer for Rally registration and merchandise sales.
-Thanks to all who shared coolers and kept them stocked with ice.
    -Saturday Night Storm
o  Thanks to the Le Sueur Police Department for warning us that a severe storm with a history of quarter-sized hail was going to hit us in a half-hour.
o  Thanks to everyone who helped move bikes under cover before the storm hit.
o  Special thanks to Dale and Cindy for getting up at 11:30 PM to secure a dry, safe building to put many of our bikes in.
o  Thanks to those who protected other bikes in their trailers.
o  Thanks to the people who helped clean up after the storm, and left the parking lot tidy.
    - And finally Thanks to all for coming and making another successful Rally.

Pioneer Chapter Owned Super X Tools - Buck Bailey has the Pioneer Chapter owned tools and they are available for use by any of our members.  Just contact him at ksbailey@mchsi.com or 952-440-9989.
