Treasurer’s Report – Randy Schwandt

• Rally income and expenses are still being tallied. Very initially it looks like we did OK at the Rally.

 Membership Report – Chuck Barsness

• We have 173 paid members.
• Membership shirts not distributed at the rally will be mailed. 

Old Business

Rally

• The move to the LeSueur County Fairgrounds in LeCenter MN was a success. Therefore, we committed to holding the Rally there again next year.
• The order for additional patches like the ones on the work shirts has been placed. The patches will be mailed to those who ordered them.
• Friday evening, we shared the grounds with the LeSueur County American Cancer Society Relay For Life.
  • Organizers of the Relay had some initial concerns since they didn’t know us, but the respect our attendees showed the Relay made a very positive impression. A number of their attendees accepted our invitation to stop in, check out the bikes, and meet us.
  • The Chapter made a $100 donation to the American Cancer Society, and the Rally attendees passed the hat and donated an additional $222. A member who recently lost a loved one to cancer also made a personal donation.
  • Both organizations expressed interest in coordinating Relay and Rally events next year. The Chapter will pursue these opportunities.
• Suggestions for next year:
  • Li’l Dandy’s, a bar & grill just east of LeCenter, should be a poker run stop next year. And from a wider perspective, we will have more information available on LeCenter-area businesses for next year’s attendees...and also for Rally organizers.
  • People who could only attend for a very limited time (e.g. just Saturday afternoon) have been informally given a discount, basically paying for a "meal ticket". This informal discount needs to be formalized and communicated so we are fair to all.
  • Those stopping in for a few hours (therefore not paying the full registration fee) will be ineligible to win prizes in Rally activities such as the Poker Run and the Raffle.
  • Consider a member discount (maybe $5) for Rally registration.
  • Considering that the Rally attendees come from all over, and many only see each other once a year, we should have name tags available.
  • We should consider a long-distance attendee award, i.e. who rode the furthest to attend.
  • Have an informal Thursday evening get-together in St. Peter, 15 minutes SW of LeCenter. Three Chapter Officers and an Influential Member did extensive and painstaking research and suggested the Whiskey River Emporium as the preferred venue.
  • Have a short informational meeting before one of the meals (maybe Saturday) to present information about the Chapter, and introduce the Rally staff and Chapter Officers.

New Business

EH Certified Gold

• John Jones briefed the membership on an idea for an Excelsior Certified Gold Club. This would be similar to Certified Original programs for other vehicles. Mods to the original would be taken into consideration. Since virtually everyone who rides will have had certain mods done, a point system will be established.

Sturgis

• Tuesday August 9 - Meetup at Wye's Casino Bar in Central City - contact Mack Backlund 
• Thursday August 11th - Tony Dominy is organizing. From Gregg and Karen of the 333 Club in Beulah, WY:

Beulah Sit down Dinner... Reservations required! Dinner will be served in Gregg's new air conditioned shop on the west end of Beulah along with a special tour for the X group of "the Mill" . We are planning on Prime Rib with the fixings. Wine will be available at no charge from an anonymous donor!

It's only $20.00 per person.

We need to see if we have enough interest. Please call 1-888- beulah w or 1-888-238-5249 to put your name down and the number of places you are reserving! MAKE SURE YOU TELL THEM TO WRITE IT DOWN. Call ASAP!
