E-H Riders Club Meeting Minutes
John’s Repair, Le Sueur, MN
May 15, 2005
NOTE – MEETING CHANGE – The next meeting is Saturday June 25 at 10:00 am, at John’s Repair, LeSueur. After the meeting the group will go to the Farmington antique motorcycle show.
Treasurer’s Report – Randy Schwandt
Our income over the past month has come from membership dues and from early Rally registrations via the website. Beside the standard expenses for meeting meals and PayPal fees, we had $250 in advance postage for the Rally mailers.
Membership Report-Chuck Barsness
We have 110 current members, which is about even compared to last year. However, quite a few of our longtime members still have not renewed, which means they probably will not get their membership shirt. Next year we may want to consider sending out a reminder via US Mail. Memberships can be renewed by mailing dues to Chuck Barsness, 428 Orchard Lane, So St Paul, MN 55075 or on the Chapter website: www.ehridersclub.com .
OLD BUSINESS
Rally
Rally registrations, whether paper or online at www.ehridersclub.com, are due Friday, June 10.
Pins
Rally pins have been ordered. We will have a 1-inch pin with the 100-year shield on it. The other pin will be a bar (matching previous years bars) which says “2005 Centennial”. These pins, like previous Rally pins, will be only available for purchase at the Rally.
T-Shirts
Final design details of the Rally T-Shirts will be ironed out by the committee. As it stands now, the t-shirts will have a pocket, a red x-n-bar on the front, an outlined x-n-bar on the left sleeve, and a logo on the back.
Work Shirts
An Unnamed Model wore a Rally Work Shirt to the meeting, showing us the back, front pocket, and sleeve shoulder patches. Photos will be posted to the Website
These are Men’s sizes. Sizes seem to run close to other shirts, so if you normally wear a Large denim shirt, a Large Rally work shirt should do well for you. Shrinkage should be minimal, since they are 65% polyester.
These work shirts are being offered for $40.00 pre-paid, or $65.00 at the rally while supplies last.. The Rally Work Shirts must be ordered by June 10. Manufacturing will start earlier based upon preliminary numbers, but the final number must be in June 10.
Location
Again, please note a change in location for this years rally. Instead of Scott County fairgrounds, we will be meeting at Le Sueur County Fairgrounds in Le Center.
Mailers
Rally registration mailers have been mailed. Registration is also available on our website: www.ehridersclub.com
Filling Rally Bags
We need to get the Rally Registration bags stuffed and delivered to the Rally site without requiring someone to skip the Albert Lea get-together. Doc Jones will see if we can get into the site to deliver the bags and other stuff before Thursday.
Cancer Awareness
An event will be taking place Friday night at the Le Sueur County Fairgrounds. If you have a loved one fighting cancer, or if you have lost a loved one to this disease, you may wish to participate also. Doc Jones will try to get some more info regarding this. The Chapter will coordinate a donation.
Display case at John’s
Please help fill the display case with memorabilia. If you have anything you would like to display, contact John. John will make sure it fits in the case, and will make sure it is properly marked so it can be returned to you. It is your decision how long you would like your item displayed.
NEW BUSINESS
Jackets
The Chapter has had periodic requests to produce Membership jackets. This year we have been able to set up a way to do this without undue financial risk to the Chapter. We’ll have three sample jackets available at the Rally to show a sample of sizes and colors available. We will be taking orders at the Rally.
Sheet Metal
Doc Herbst has a source of tanks and fenders, he’d like to buy this sheet metal. He needs help in any way, including a place to store the stuff.
Calendar
Doc Herbst is putting together a 2006 calendar.
o The front cover is a shot of all EH’s at the Rally whose owners pay $5 and are at John’s at noon on Saturday for the photo. Be there a half hour early so we can get setup.
o Calendars will cost $10.
o The calendar picture for a month can be purchased for $250. This includes a free copy of the calendar, waiver of the $5 group photo fee, and preferred placement in the group photo.
o Business card-size ads are available.
o Individuals can have photos taken for themselves (not for the calendar) on Friday and Saturday at the Fairgrounds for $15.00. These are studio quality prints at a very low cost.
o Signup - sign up at the photo booth at the Rally or print a photo registration form from Doc Herbst’s website: www.saherbst.com at the link labeled "Order Form 100th Anniversary Super X Rally Calendar". Photo shoots at the fairgrounds will begin at 11:00 am each day.
