The meeting was held at John’s Repair, LeSueur, MN and called to order by Assistant Director Rick Wawrzyniak.
· Chuck Barsness noticed at the last meeting that the Treasurer’s Report did not reflect that the Chapter had purchased folding chairs for use at our meetings at John’s. The chairs have now been added to the Chapter Assets account.
· In the last month, we incurred mailing expenses for the Membership Pins.
· A number of expenses related to the Rally have been paid in the last month. The Rally mailers and Rally Pins were the largest items.
· There are more Rally expenses coming up, but these will be due at the Rally. The main ones are site fees and two meals.
· Current membership stands at 150. Although we always would welcome more members, 150 isn’t bad.
· A Denver, CO PBS station ran a fundraising auction, and someone contributed a SuperX. The auction manager contacted Chuck for details. Rick Meier heard about this, and suggested we contribute a complimentary membership to the successful bidder. The successful bidder, Larry Bauder, has taken advantage of this offer. Welcome, Larry!
· A number of people who’ve been members in the past have not yet renewed.
· Membership pins have been mailed to those did not receive theirs at the May meeting.
· We’ve received the Rally pins. We have a Master pin (a large X) and yearly bars from 2000 to 2004. They will be on sale at the Rally for $3.00 each pin.
· The Rally shirts have been printed, and we have taken delivery. Waz modeled a shirt for us, and all in attendance approved of the shirt (but not necessarily of Waz).
· The Poker Run needs to be mapped yet.
· We have received confirmations that we’ll have some donated parts to raffle off.
· Nils will be bringing some shirts from the Sweden Rally to sell.
· The Bike Show awards have been ordered.
· We again will be putting together a “ditty bag” with stickers & stuff. The bags will be supplied to us compliments of superxowners.com.
· Waz accepted the burden of stopping at Andy’s in Belle Plaine and letting them know the dates of the Rally.
· Ride to Sturgis
o At this time, fourteen people are going out. The group is meeting at John’s Repair in LeSueur at 8 am sharp, fully fueled, on the 6th.
o John’s trailer will be in Beulah at the 333 Club
o Contact Chuck Barsness for more info, and make your own room arrangements.
· The December meeting was scheduled to be an optional-attendance social meeting because of the busyness of the season. However, our Bylaws state that the Officer Elections will be held at the December meeting. Might we move the Chapter Elections to a time when more members would participate? It was suggested that moving the election to March would coordinate membership efforts with elections. We will look at the Bylaws to ascertain what we need to do.
· Since the members returning from Sturgis will not be back for an August 15 meeting, the next chapter meeting will be August 22.
· Joe Newlon, our main contact with Swift Motorcycle Company, was injured in a bike accident. The members in attendance signed a card expressing our well wishes.
