EH-Pioneer Chapter meeting minutes

Southside Music Café
3809 SR-13 W, Burnsville, MN 55337
January 18, 2003
Minutes submitted by Val Schwandt, Secretary

The meeting was called to order by Director Phil Ward.

Phil and the Chapter recognized outgoing Director Bob Capitola for a job well done.

Secretary’s Report

Val Schwandt read the December’s meeting minutes. The minutes were approved as read.

Treasurer’s Report

Randy Schwandt gave the Treasurer's Report. Expenses for this month included renewing the web hosting for $270 for this calendar year (we’re set until December2004).

Membership Report

Chuck Barsness gave the Membership Report. All current members have been contacted via email or phone to renew their memberships.  Past members still need to be contacted.  Let Chuck know if you can help.

To help facilitate membership renewals, especially for international members, setting up a VISA account to receive payments was explored.  Chuck also pointed out the benefits of  being able to take orders for merchandise with VISA.

Membership pins are still being researched.  Issues include cost, design, and copyrights.

Rally Business

Rally ’04 Chair is Rick Wawrzyniak.  Rally ’04 Co-Chairs are David Drown and Lisa Berg.  “Thank you” to David and Lisa for volunteering your time, talents and resources to this event. They even have a trailer to help haul rally stuff!

Ideas for Rally ’04 t-shirts are needed.  Bob Capitola can again arrange for the shirts to be printed.  Past themes for t-shirts have been historical pictures of the bikes/events.

Ideas for Rally ’05 shirts include a picture of old bikes (lined up in front of a store) on the front, and new bikes (lined up in front of John’s) on the back. Another idea was having a picture of each bike model and its year.

Research needs to be done to confirm that 2005 is indeed the 100-year anniversary.

Sturgis Plans

Chuck will plan the trip out to Sturgis.  John Jones will follow the ride with a support vehicle.  Starting points for the trip were discussed. Options include John’s Repair and the factory site.

Old Business

Information availability clarification:  Randy Schwandt will post meeting minutes to the website as they become available.  Evil Bob will update the website.  In order to facilitate the update, Bob needs input from the Chapter on what the site should contain.  Bring your suggestions to the chapter meetings, or contact a club officer who will bring the suggestion to the meeting on your behalf.

New Business

Bob Capitola brought to the Club’s attention a publication called “Full Throttle.”  This magazine could be a good source of publicity for our Rally.  Phil will contact the publisher for details.

Next Meeting

The next meeting will be arranged by Bob Capitola. Expect the third Sunday in Feb. Details later.
